WELL – Theory of Change
How WELL helps women in Iran and Afghanistan grow ,lead and spark change.
WELL strengthens the leadership, confidence, and resilience of women in Iran
and Afghanistan through secure online education, mentorship, and community—
empowering them to create change even under repression.

- Women in Iran and Afghanistan live under severe repression—gender apartheid in Afghanistan and systemic discrimination, surveillance, and state violence in Iran. They face restrictions on education, employment, political participation, free expression, and personal safety. These conditions isolate women and limit their ability to build independent, empowered lives.
Well's Approach
- WELL provides a secure, anonymous online space where Iranian and Afghan women access:
- Culturally tailored leadership and life-skills training
- Mentorship with global experts and role models
- Mental well-being support
- Financial empowerment and practical skills
- A safe, international community of women
- All programs are designed for low-bandwidth, high-surveillance environments

- We believe that men and women are equal in dignity as human beings, and deserve equal rights, protections under the law, and opportunities. While we cannot change these authoritarian systems, we can build the leadership, confidence, and agency of women living under them. Even in the harshest circumstances, women can grow, connect, organize, and lead—if they have safe access to knowledge, mentorship, and community.
