Dear Friends and Community Members,Welcome to the first issue of the WELL monthly newsletter. It is with great pride and gratitude that I share this moment with you as our community continues to grow, connect, and lead under challenging circumstances.WELL exists to empower women—particularly in Iran and Afghanistan—through education, leadership training, and global networks. In contexts where access to opportunities is limited, we provide a platform for learning, dialogue, and transformation. Our mission is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: when women are equipped with knowledge, skills, and confidence, they become agents of change in their societies.

We are proud to announce the launch of our new leadership course, which began on Monday, April 6. This program brings together women from across Afghanistan and beyond in weekly online sessions focused on leadership development, civic engagement, and resilience. The course continues with dynamic discussions, peer learning, and mentorship, creating a supportive and empowering environment for participants.

This month, we also introduced sessions on The Art of Writing, designed to help participants strengthen their voices, articulate their ideas, and share their stories with clarity and impact. Writing is not only a skill—it is a form of leadership and resistance.

WELL’s Public Relations efforts have continued to play an important role in strengthening digital engagement, expanding community outreach, and supporting volunteer mobilization. Social media activities focused on sharing leadership lessons, encouraging audience engagement through post interaction, promoting seminars and short videos, and publishing posters for the donation campaign “Let’s Help Her Learn.” These efforts helped raise awareness, strengthen WELL’s visibility, and encourage meaningful participation across its growing audience. In addition, an Afghan women’s community of more than 100 girls and women was successfully brought together and actively engaged through online sessions and a dedicated WhatsApp community group. Continued communication and coordination helped organize participants into different departments, with members now in the planning stage to begin activities within each department. WELL also recruited more than 14 volunteer teachers and mentors from diverse professional backgrounds who generously committed their time and expertise to support educational and mentorship initiatives.

WELL continues to host a variety of events, including educational workshops, guest speaker sessions, and mentorship circles. We invite you to explore our full calendar on the WELL website and join us in these conversations.

These milestones reflect the resilience and dedication of our community.
