About the Organization: Women’s E-Learning in Leadership, WELL 

 The WELL organization was established in 2017 in the state of Virginia as a non-profit organization (3, C, 501). WELL existential philosophy is: Training leadership skills by empowering women.

 Principles and values: Respect for human rights, Responsibility and Commitment, Teamwork and Cooperation, Courage and Creativity.

Vision: Helping to establish democracy in Iran and achieve gender equality in political, economic, cultural and individual and social freedoms.

Mission: Providing the necessary training in leadership skills of women, especially the young generation Creating and developing an international network of focused women’s leadership by training and transferring the experiences of women leaders and grassroots organizations.

Position: WELL is seeking an intern to join our Development team to assist with fundraising efforts, social media, research, writing, and editing. The Development Intern will report directly to the president.

We offer unique professional development opportunities and the chance to gain valuable experience in fundraising, communications, social media, event planning, and team work.

Internship Dates: Winter/Spring 2023; January-May (exact start and end dates negotiable)

Time Commitment: Up to 10-12 hours per week

Location: Remote, all activities are online.

Possible Duties, Responsibilities and Projects:

  • Conduct research on potential partners/sponsors and compile findings into briefings for WELL board of directors.
  • Prepare partnership proposals and pitch decks for new and existing supporters.
  • Review Board and Committee documents and help to prepare for governance meetings.
  • Help promote WELL’s social media presence using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Assist WELL with the development of annual giving programs, providing research and recommendations.

Qualifications: The position calls for a highly organized individual with project management, writing, and critical thinking skills. The intern should exhibit a commitment to WELL’s mission and ideally possess the following professional qualifications and personal attributes with a demonstrated ability in each area:

  • Ability to solve problems resourcefully, work independently and switch tasks efficiently.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with different social media channels and best marketing practices for online audiences.
  • Interest in gender issues, women studies/ women’s leadership/empowerment, Iranian women and/or international relations.
  • Creative and curious nature, eager to learn and explore solutions to challenges.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowing Farsi language, speaking, writing a plus.
  • Event planning and fundraising experience, a plus.
